Verizon Foundation donates $1 Million towards Southern California wildfire and windstorm relief efforts
Verizon Foundation has announced a $1 million donation to support communities affected by Southern California fires and windstorms. The donation is equally split between the American Red Cross ($500K) and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation ($500K).
The American Red Cross funding will support emergency relief efforts in the LA area, while the LAFD Foundation portion will help purchase essential tools and safety equipment for firefighters, including hydration backpacks, wildland brush tools, and emergency fire shelters.
