“Recognizing the contributions, culture, and impact of Hispanic/Latino Americans is integral to Macy’s mission of building a brighter future for our colleagues, customers, and communities,” said Shawn Outler, Macy’s chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer. “For more than 20 years, Macy’s and Hispanic Federation have worked to raise funds to empower thousands of Latino young adults to attend college, buy books, gain professional experience and create job skill training. We are thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with the Hispanic Federation to drive positive societal impact and empower communities nationwide.”

Giving Back with Hispanic Federation

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Macy’s will launch a nationwide give-back campaign to benefit Hispanic Federation. With a strong presence throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, Hispanic Federation works to uplift millions of Latino youth, children, and families with a focus on education, health, immigration, civic engagement, disaster relief, economic empowerment, and the environment.

Macy’s customers can directly impact and support Latino communities nationwide through a charitable campaign running from September 15 through October 15. Customers can donate online or round-up their in-store purchase amount donating the extra change (up to $0.99) to Hispanic Federation. These donations will help support the organization’s mission of empowering and advancing Latino communities, families, and institutions.

Funds raised in this year’s campaign will directly support CREAR Futuros, an educational program aimed at creating opportunities for Latino students to receive a college degree. Programming addresses systematic barriers by providing students with a holistic set of supports, including peer mentorship, leadership development, internship opportunities, and more. Additionally, funds will support Hispanic Federation’s network of 42 Digital Equity Centers throughout the U.S., where low-income Latino families receive digital skills training, and access to laptops through lending libraries to support telemedicine, remote learning, and job search needs.

“We are excited to continue our work with Macy’s during Hispanic Heritage Month this year, celebrating our communities across the country,” said Frankie Miranda, President and CEO of Hispanic Federation. “Through this partnership, we will raise funds to support our community through education, tools, and resources, driving positive change within the communities we serve.”

Tu Vida, Tu Estilo – Your Life, Your Style

Macy’s believes in highlighting the richness and strength of Hispanic/Latino culture, celebrating individual style. This fall on Macy’s Live, the brand’s live shopping programming, Hispanic/Latino creators and entrepreneurs will be spotlighted. Beginning on September 20, beauty brands including Caley Cosmetics and Beautyblender will be featured, with additional programming continuing through October 11.

Hispanic/Latino creatives and fashion influencers continue to be highlighted at Macy’s through special fashion partnerships, including Latin global superstar Maluma’s collection titled Royalty by Maluma, which brings a unique blend of Latin culture and Maluma’s love for fashion, with stylish wear-anywhere looks that are versatile for a night out or every day. Royalty by Maluma fall collection will be available on September 22. Additionally, social media influencers and viral fashion creators Denise Mercedes and Maria Castellanos’ exclusive capsule collection with Jenni called “Style Not Size” highlight matching sets featuring tanks, tees and cutoff tops to pair with joggers, leggings and shorts in pastel hues and neutrals, available on September 15. Cubavera is also partnering with Macy’s to bring an exclusive capsule collection with Grammy® Award-winner Yotuel Romero and renowned Cuban artist Tony Mendoza. The collection, consisting of t-shirts and hoodies, features original artwork by Tony Mendoza and honors Hispanic culture from the perspective of an Afro-Latino experience and will be available on September 15.

Partners for a Brighter Future

In addition to Hispanic Federation, Macy’s will continue its longtime support of various local and national organizations focused on education, economic development and social justice for Hispanic/Latino communities. This includes providing grants to a variety of organizations like LNESC National Education Service Centers, Inc., a national nonprofit that offers an array of educational programming and leadership development for Hispanic/Latino students; Latino Commission on AIDS, a leading nonprofit spearheading health advocacy for Latinos, including promoting HIV education, developing preventative programs for high-risk communities, and more; and lastly, Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, the nation’s leading corporate advocacy program that advances the inclusion of Hispanics in Corporate America in the areas of employment, procurement, philanthropy, and governance through leadership advancement programs and conferences.

Macy’s longstanding support for its Hispanic/Latino customers, colleagues and communities nationwide is part of its social purpose platform, Mission Every One. The platform, unveiled earlier this year, directs $5 billion of Macy’s, Inc. spend by 2025 to organizations and businesses who create a more equitable and sustainable future. Macy’s is committed to leveraging its resources, talent and scale to create a brighter future with bold representation for all.

Authenticity and education are engrained into Macy’s culture by the Hispanic/Latino employee resource group (ERG), La Voz. Serving as a valuable resource for the Latino community, La Voz promotes engagement, career development and serves as a network of cultural commonality in the workplace. Membership can also serve to educate colleagues about the diversity within the Latino culture, help them better understand their Latino colleagues, and learn how to better serve Latino customers.

Macy’s Hispanic Heritage celebration will extend to social and digital outreach across select Macy’s stores and digital platforms. For more information and to shop the collections visit macys.com/purpose.
