About the Perfumers

Juliette Karagueuzoglou was passionate about scents even in childhood. After attending the Paris-based ISIPCA perfumery school, she joined IFF in 2002 and entered its internal perfumery school. During her training, she ceaselessly strived to better understand natural ingredients, spending months at LMR Naturals, IFF's natural ingredients facility. She started her first major scent adventure with Master Perfumer Anne Flipo for Yves Saint Laurent (YSL). Karagueuzoglou was a just perfumery student when she devised a cologne for her boyfriend, which would become acclaimed fragrance L'Homme by YSL. In her own words: "the world is richer with scents."

Nicolas Beaulieu grew up in the French countryside and graduated from ISIPCA in 2000. He joined the IFF quality control department and later enrolled in IFF's internal perfumery school. There, he quickly understood his talent would require both rigor and out-of-the box thinking. He's equally passionate about natural or synthetic ingredients to recreate genuine olfactive treasures. Beaulieu co-created fragrance blockbuster Good Fortune by Viktor & Rolf with Master Perfumer Anne Flipo. His ambition is to work alongside IFF's R&D team to unearth new molecules. In his words: "I love the diversity of perfume and strive to create a perfumery form which aggregates and reconciles."

Jean-Christophe Hérault was trained as a chemist and worked at the quality control department of Fragrance Resources, a privately-held, family-owned fragrance company acquired by IFF in 2016. He was introduced to perfumery by then Master Perfumer Pierre Bourdon, and joined IFF in 2010. An art, music and literature lover influenced by his mentor—who asked that he read Marcel Proust's "In Search of Lost Time"—and become a creator in his own right. After reading Proust, Hérault studied art history at the Paris Beaux-Arts school, which inspires him every day. In particular, he creates perfumes with multiple contrasts, such as his creations for Mugler collection 'The Exceptions.' In his words: "I cherish and preserve time for my reveries, which I hope resonate in my perfumes."
