Hyundai Motor (HYMTF) and Samsung Electronics have successfully completed a pilot project for Private 5G (P-5G) RedCap technology, marking a significant advancement in smart manufacturing. The technology will be showcased at MWC25 Barcelona from March 3-6, 2025.

The collaboration verified P-5G RedCap technology, which offers simplified device configurations, reduced bandwidth usage, and lower power consumption compared to traditional Wi-Fi. Hyundai integrated Qualcomm's Snapdragon X35 5G Modem-RF System chipsets into its Diagnostic Scan system for vehicle inspection.

Hyundai Motor Company's IONIQ 5 N has set a new electric vehicle (EV) record at 'Attack Tsukuba 2025' in Japan, achieving a lap time of 57.446 seconds. The IONIQ 5 N TA (Time Attack) Spec, driven by Japanese professional driver Nobuteru Taniguchi, outperformed the nearest EV competitor by almost two seconds.

The vehicle, which previously won at the 2024 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, features enhanced specifications including a boosted output of 687 PS, modified speakers over 120 dB, new shock absorbers, motorsport-grade brakes, and various safety upgrades. Despite these modifications, the vehicle retains most of its production components in critical systems.

This achievement strengthens Hyundai's position in Japan's growing EV market, where the company recently launched its INSTER sub-compact electric SUV.

Hyundai Motor Group marks 20 years of innovation at its California Proving Ground (CPG), celebrating two decades of comprehensive vehicle testing and development. The $80 million facility, opened in 2005 in California City, has tested over 5,000 Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles, covering more than 20-million miles.

Located in the Mojave Desert, the 4,500-acre facility features extensive testing infrastructure including a 6.4-mile oval track, 2-million square-foot Vehicle Dynamics Area, 2.75-mile winding road track, and a 3.3-mile hill road. The facility conducts comprehensive vehicle evaluations, focusing on durability, ride handling, noise testing, and heat protection assessments.
