Heliospectra AB has launched the MITRA Flex, a groundbreaking flexible far-red light designed for customizable growing solutions. This innovative product combines three spectra—PAR, PAR plus Far-Red, and Far-Red Only—allowing growers to optimize conditions based on specific crop varieties and growth stages. The system integrates with Heliospectra's helioCORE™ for wireless dimming and dynamic DLI control, promising significant energy savings. Notably, the MITRA Flex can save up to 70% of energy costs compared to standard lighting solutions. The product will be showcased at GreenTech in Amsterdam from June 13-15, 2023.

Benefits of far-red light and application-based growing
Far-red light has proven to be beneficial for a large variety of crops. It helps extend the growth of plants' stems, allowing plants to reach 'harvest-ready' height faster. Including far-red in the light spectrum can also increase leaf size, enabling plants to capture more light, which can indirectly increase their growth over time. Additionally, far-red light plays a role in the flowering of some plants, increasing the number of flowers or speeding up the flowering process.
