TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wrap Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WRAP) (the “Company”), a global leader in innovative public safety technologies and services, today shared that the Edenton Police Department of North Carolina has engaged surrounding departments for live demonstrations of Wrap Reality, WRAP’s virtual reality training platform.

The initial purchase and installation of the Wrap Reality system at Edenton took place in early November of 2021. Since its installment, Edenton Police Department has hosted 10 local departments to test the virtual reality system.

The adoption of the Wrap Reality platform follows the department’s purchase of the BolaWrap® Remote Restraint technology in July of 2020. After receiving grant funding from the North Carolina Governors Crime Commission, Edenton Police Department can now move forward towards full deployment awaiting its delivery of the next-generation device, the BolaWrap 150 which was made in December of 2021.

“Wrap Reality provides transparency and allows officers to see their mistakes and adjust accordingly. In Law Enforcement, we have seen and experienced so much tragedy in our country, as it pertains to use of force. So, upgrading to the BolaWrap 150 is, yet again, an extra tool on our belt to keep our citizens safe and our officers safe. This is in addition to having the Wrap Reality training platform, which helps correct mistakes in a training setting instead of having a critical incident in the real-world setting,” said Henry King, Chief of Edenton Police Department.
