In line with updated COVID-19 guidelines regarding operations, GlobalMedic, has established new safety protocols and processes to allow for the distribution of free laundry services and supplies to those who have been impacted by the disaster, while keeping staff and beneficiaries at sites protected.

 

 

WHY:

The recent floods have devastated multiple communities across the province and have displaced approximately 18,000 residents from their homes, leaving them without basic needs and resources. Tide has a history of giving back to the communities where we live and work, and we want to provide the comforts of home to those who need it most. These services are free and available to people affected by the disaster and the volunteers who are helping to respond.

 

 

WHERE:

Tide is partnering with GlobalMedic to provide free, full-service laundry at Downtown McCleaners (437 Seymour St, Kamloops, BC V2C 2G7). The Tide Loads of Hope services will allow those displaced by the flooding as well the disaster relief responders to drop off their laundry to be washed, dried and folded, free of charge.

 

 

WHEN:

Beginning Wednesday November 23, laundry will be collected during open hours at Downtown McCleaners in Kamloops. All washable clothing types can be accepted with the exception of heavy bedding. The current limit is two loads per family, per pick up.

 

 

 

Our partners expect to stay on location for about two to three weeks or, until the immediate needs of the local population are met. We’ll provide 24 hours’ notice before we discontinue services and leave the area.
