cartridge-style flow meter technical
A cartridge-style flow meter is a fluid-measurement device where the sensing element is housed in a removable, standardized cartridge that can be swapped in and out like a printer cartridge. It measures how much liquid or gas moves through a system and simplifies maintenance, calibration and sterilization by allowing quick replacement of the sensor module. Investors care because the design can reduce downtime and service costs, enable recurring sales of consumable cartridges, and speed regulatory compliance for medical or industrial installations.
electro-hydraulic technical
A system that uses electrical signals to control fluid-driven mechanical power, combining an electronic controller with hydraulic pumps, valves and actuators. Think of it like a car where electric commands steer and modulate powerful fluid “muscles” to move heavy parts precisely; it matters to investors because electro-hydraulic equipment often determines a product’s performance, energy use, maintenance needs and upgrade costs, which affect profit margins and long-term capital spending.
ce standards regulatory
CE standards are the European rules and tests a product must meet to carry the CE mark, a visible sign that it meets safety, health, and environmental requirements for sale in the European Economic Area. For investors, CE compliance is like a passport that allows products into a large market and reduces the risk of costly recalls, legal fines, or delayed launches — factors that affect a company's sales, costs, and reputation.
e-mark emc regulatory
An e-mark EMC is an official approval mark showing that an electronic product or vehicle component meets required electromagnetic compatibility standards for road vehicles, meaning it won’t interfere with or be unduly affected by other electronic systems. For investors, it matters because the mark is often required to sell or deploy products in regulated markets; lacking it can delay launches, limit sales, or increase compliance costs—similar to needing a safety certificate before a product can be sold in a new country.
flexible printed circuit board technical
A flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) is a thin, bendable sheet that carries electrical traces and components much like a flat, printed ribbon cable, allowing electronic connections to flex, fold or fit into tight spaces. Investors care because FPCBs enable smaller, lighter and more reliable products, reduce assembly complexity and can lower manufacturing costs—factors that influence a maker’s competitiveness, product adoption and profit margins across consumer electronics and automotive markets.
hydraulic power units technical
A hydraulic power unit is a self-contained machine that creates and controls pressurized fluid to drive equipment — think of it as the engine and fuel tank for hydraulic tools and heavy machinery. Investors care because these units affect how reliably and efficiently plants, construction gear, ships, and other equipment operate; their cost, lifespan, and aftermarket service demand influence a company’s operating expenses, capital spending and revenue stability.

SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Helios Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: HLIO) (“Helios” or the “Company”), a global leader in highly engineered motion control and electronic control technologies, announces its operating company Sun Hydraulics (“Sun”) is launching the innovative QMEH cartridge-style flow meter.

Sun Hydraulics is launching the innovative QMEH cartridge-style flow meter.

“QMEH is a cartridge-style flow meter that enables reliable, high-precision performance in critical systems, positioning it to capture growing demand in advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic applications. With factory-set calibration and pre-linearized accuracy, the QMEH arrives field-ready, eliminating additional setup time. Its robust construction and dependable signal integrity make it an ideal option for hydraulic power units, aerospace ground support test equipment, telehandlers, and excavators operating in high-pressure environments,” said Rick Martich, President Hydraulics, Motion Control Technology (MCT).

Designed for seamless integration and regulatory compliance, QMEH features a proprietary, state-of-the-art position sensor protected by patent and certified to CE standards for safe use in Europe. It has been proven to operate reliably in electronically noisy vehicle environments without causing or experiencing interference (E-mark EMC), making it a dependable choice for modern and electrified hydraulic systems.

The proprietary design incorporates a coiled flexible printed circuit board, enabling a compact sensor footprint. The valve leverages this sensor technology to precisely measure flow and convert electrical signals into proportional flow rates. The modular position sensor platform is expected to be deployed across multiple applications within the Motion Control Technology portfolio.

Available in multiple flow ranges, QMEH supports operating pressures up to 5,000 psi (350 bar) across all ports, ensuring consistent performance even under extreme conditions. The cartridge is designed to fit Sun’s T-16A cavity for effortless integration in demanding hydraulic systems.
