NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite Point Mortgage Trust Inc. (NYSE: GPMT) (“GPMT,” “Granite Point” or the “Company”) today announced the launch of an underwritten public offering of shares of its Series A Fixed-to-Floating Rate Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock (the “Series A Preferred Stock”) with a $25.00 per share liquidation preference. Granite Point intends to file an application to list the Series A Preferred Stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “GPMT PrA” and, if approved, expects trading to commence within 30 days after the initial issuance of the Series A Preferred Stock.

The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include, without limitation, the partial repayment of its 8.00% senior secured term loan facilities of certain of its subsidiaries due 2025, including any accrued interest and early repayment fees related thereto, and/or the origination or acquisition of its target assets. The amount and timing of any use of proceeds will be in the Company’s sole discretion.
