RTA Selects DZS to Bring World-Class Broadband Services to Texas’ Bastrop County
DZS (OTC: DZSI) has been selected by Rural Telecommunications America (RTA) to provide fiber access systems and Wi-Fi solutions for a major broadband project in Bastrop County, Texas. The project, funded by a $43 million BOOT II grant, will deliver gigFAST INTERNET® services to 10,471 unserved rural locations.
RTA will implement DZS Velocity fiber access systems and Helix connected edge Wi-Fi solutions to offer symmetrical gigabit services to residences and up to 100 gigabit services for businesses. The project leverages Build America, Buy America (BABA) certified solutions and builds upon RTA's previous successful collaboration with DZS in Texas' Bolivar Peninsula.
The deployment includes the DZS Velocity V2 access edge system supporting GPON to XGS-PON services, and DZS Helix 2466 home gateways featuring dual-band WiFi 6 capabilities.
