Biggest spenders, top grocery items and most loved cuisines are revealed in DoorDash Canada’s 2023 End of Year Trends Report
“This year we saw Canadians fully embrace the wide variety of options available for delivery on DoorDash,” said Shilpa Arora, General Manager at DoorDash Canada. “From restaurants, to beauty products, to wine and spirits, to grocery, Canadians are choosing the convenience of DoorDash while supporting restaurants and businesses in their communities. We’re thrilled to share the interesting finds revealed by Canadians’ ordering habits. It might even change the way you look at online ordering!”
Whether you ordered from your favourite local restaurants, groceries or upped your gifting game, DoorDash is highlighting some of the biggest delivery moments over the past year.
Some highlights include:

Biggest Spender: The most expensive order in 2023 was
in$3,335 Markham, Ontario including more than 30 different beauty products ranging from hair and makeup products, to beauty tools. -
Shortest Delivery Distance Order: The shortest delivery distance was only 120 metres away, which is still 20 metres higher than
Niagara Falls ! With three of these orders happening inToronto ,Ottawa andThunder Bay , we can tell that Ontarians love convenience! -
Healthy Groceries: Bananas, tomatoes and eggs top the list of grocery items ordered across
Canada , followed by strawberries. -
Most Organized: Canadians have been taking full advantage of DoorDash’s advance ordering feature, with
Vancouver ,Toronto andCalgary topping the charts for highest volume of users. -
Pickiest Eaters:
Vancouver ,Toronto andMontreal entered the most special instructions on their orders this year, with Torontonians accounting for over21% of special requests. -
Staying Energized:
Vancouver ,Toronto andCalgary residents stayed energized this year with the most coffee deliveries.Vancouver showed they love their coffee by ordering more than 160,000 coffees on DoorDash in 2023 andToronto followed closely behind with more than 108,000 orders.
