Welcome to our dedicated page for Asian Growth Cubs ETF news (Ticker: CUBS), a resource for investors and traders seeking the latest updates and insights on Asian Growth Cubs ETF stock.
The Asian Growth Cubs ETF (CUBS) is an exchange-traded fund managed by Exchange Traded Concepts, LLC, with Tema Global Limited serving as its sub-adviser and sponsor. The primary focus of CUBS was to provide investors with exposure to emerging and frontier markets in Asia, targeting investments in smaller and mid-sized companies known for their growth potential.
As of July 28, 2023, a significant development occurred as the Board of Trustees of Exchange Listed Funds Trust approved the termination and liquidation of the Fund. This decision followed a thorough evaluation of various factors. Consequently, the CUBS ETF will cease operations and liquidate on or about August 31, 2023.
Leading up to the liquidation, the Fund will be closed to new creation unit orders on August 29, 2023, with the last trading day on the NYSE Arca, Inc. scheduled for August 30, 2023. From August 29, 2023, until the cessation of trading, shareholders may be restricted to selling their shares to specific broker-dealers, and there is no guarantee of market availability during this period. Standard brokerage charges may apply to these transactions.
In preparation for its liquidation, the Fund's management will focus on raising cash or investing in highly liquid assets, which may deviate from its customary investment strategy. Consequently, the Fund may not meet its established investment objectives during this transition.
On the Liquidation Date, CUBS will distribute its liquidated assets in cash to all remaining shareholders on a pro-rata basis, including any accrued capital gains and dividends. These distributions are considered taxable events. Once the liquidation is finalized, the Fund will formally terminate.
Investors should note that the CUBS ETF, while operational, presented an opportunity to invest in non-diversified portfolios within volatile and potentially high-growth markets. International investments, particularly in emerging and frontier markets, come with inherent risks such as currency fluctuations, political instability, and lower trading volumes, magnifying the challenges and potential rewards.
