Canada Nickel Company and Taykwa Tagamou Nation (TTN) have announced a historic $20 million investment partnership for the Crawford Nickel Sulphide Project. TTN will invest in a Convertible Note convertible into 16.67 million shares at $1.20 per share, representing an 8.4% stake in the company. The Note has a five-year term with a 4.75% annual coupon.
This marks the largest direct investment by a First Nation into a critical minerals mining project in Canada. TTN will gain a seat on Canada Nickel's Board of Directors when holding the Note or maintaining at least 5% ownership post-conversion. The Crawford Project is positioned to become Canada's largest nickel mine and aims to be a net-zero operation, capable of storing up to 1.5M tonnes of CO2 annually during peak production.
