BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Cross Country Healthcare, a South Florida-based tech-enabled workforce solutions platform and advisory firm, will join the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida chapter as a 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer’s® sponsor.
On Sunday, November 13, participants will walk to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony — a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent people’s connection to Alzheimer’s — their reasons for ending the disease.
“Cross Country is proud to sponsor and support the 2022 South Florida Walk to End Alzheimer’s,” said John A. Martins, President, and CEO of Cross Country Healthcare. “Working in partnership with important community organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association will help us to make strides in research and education and provide critical resources for individuals and caregivers whose lives are affected by this disease.”
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Florida, 580,000 are living with the disease.
“In Palm Beach County alone, more than 52,000 of our neighbors, friends and family members are living with Alzheimer's, a disease that has no cure or effective treatment,” said Tracey Wekar-Paige, executive director for the Alzheimer's Association Southeast Florida Chapter. “The Alzheimer's Association has supported more than 102 research projects across Florida and thousands globally as we discover more about this disease daily. None of this would be possible without the support of organizations like Cross Country Healthcare.”
