Harbison, Pathward’s Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Impact, is among the winners of the inaugural American Bankers Association DEI Awards
The DEI Outstanding Leader Award recognizes a DEI specialist or other leader who actively supports the development and implementation of DEI internal initiatives; goes above and beyond to ensure all employees are represented and uses a comprehensive lens to inform their approach; continuously serves the organization as a DEI champion; and advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion practices within the workplace.
“Natonya has been instrumental in developing and enabling Pathward’s DEI strategy,” said Anthony Sharett, Pathward’s President. “Her work has touched every aspect of our organization, from providing key educational and leadership development opportunities for our employees to helping drive community engagement and investments in the communities we serve. Natonya is deeply committed to reinforcing belonging at Pathward, and her recognition for this award is well deserved.”
“I’m grateful to the American Bankers Association for the recognition of being a DEI Change Agent,” Harbison said. “Without the support of all employees, our program cannot be successful. I’m thankful for my Pathward colleagues for their enthusiasm and willingness to learn as we established our DEI strategy. Our work is making a difference in many lives, and that is a testament to Pathward’s ongoing commitment to DEI and the communities we serve.”
Since joining Pathward in 2021, Harbison has helped manage the execution of the company’s DEI strategy and development of the DEI roadmap, built a robust DEI curriculum, and established metrics to evaluate progress. Earlier this year, Pathward’s Network of Women Employee Resource Group named Harbison the recipient of its Women’s Empowerment Award. Harbison was selected in part due to her work in fostering growth within Pathward’s Employee Resource Groups, and continuously working to grow and encourage colleagues to rise with her.
