Recent history shows that clearly positive operational or financial updates sometimes met with negative price reactions, while neutral filings and scheduling news often triggered modest moves.

Recent Company History

Over the last six months, BIDU has reported several notable events. On Feb 26, 2026, it posted Q4 and FY 2025 results with strong AI business growth, a US$5 billion repurchase authorization, and a new dividend policy, yet shares fell 5.65%. A Dubai driverless ride-hailing launch on Apr 1, 2026 saw only a slight gain. Routine filings, including the Form 20-F on Mar 17, 2026, and scheduling items like the upcoming Q1 2026 results date, produced small, mixed reactions. Today’s AGM announcement fits this pattern of governance-focused news with limited fundamental change.

5 terms
class a ordinary shares financial
"Class A ordinary shares with a par value of US$0.000000625 each (the "Class A Ordinary Shares")"
Class A ordinary shares are a type of ownership stake in a company that typically grants voting rights to shareholders, allowing them to have a say in important company decisions. They often come with priority in receiving dividends or profits, making them attractive to investors seeking influence and potential income. These shares help distinguish different levels of ownership and rights within a company's stock structure.
class b ordinary shares financial
"Class B ordinary shares with a par value of US$0.000000625 each (the "Class B Ordinary Shares")"
Class B ordinary shares are a type of ownership stake in a company that typically come with different voting rights or privileges compared to other share classes. For investors, they represent a way to hold part of the company’s value and influence its decisions, often with fewer voting rights than Class A shares. Understanding these shares helps investors assess their level of control and potential returns within a company.
record date regulatory
"has fixed the close of business on May 18, 2026, Hong Kong time, as the record date"
The record date is the specific day when a company determines which shareholders are eligible to receive a dividend or participate in an upcoming vote. It’s like a cutoff date; if you own the stock on that day, you get the benefits or voting rights. This date matters because it decides who qualifies for certain company benefits.
form 20-f regulatory
"filed its annual report on Form 20-F, including its audited financial statements"
Form 20-F is the standardized annual disclosure that non-U.S. companies must file with the U.S. securities regulator when their shares are traded in the U.S.; it contains audited financial statements, a plain-language description of the business, management discussion, governance details and key risk factors. It matters to investors because it provides a consistent, comparable company “report card” and rulebook, helping buyers assess financial health, governance and risks before investing.
hkex regulatory
"pursuant to the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited ("HKEx")"
HKEX is the operator of Hong Kong’s main financial marketplaces, running the stock exchange, derivatives trading and the clearing systems that settle trades. Think of it as the marketplace and referee that decides which companies can list, how trades are processed, and the rules that keep trading orderly; its policies and listings shape investor access, liquidity and price discovery for many Asian and international investments.
