The Deep Pour Lower Yellowing Epoxy System offers extended set time, improved color retention, and superior air release. Additionally, an ultra-low yellowing cycloaliphatic amine curing agent is being promoted for decorative floor coatings, providing superior yellowing resistance and gloss retention.

Westlake Corporation (NYSE: WLK) announced today that Westlake Epoxy will launch several new lower yellowing epoxy products at the American Coatings Show 2024, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA) from April 30 to May 2, 2024.
The Deep Pour Lower Yellowing Epoxy System is Epoxy Research Resin RSL-4710 combined with Research Curing Agent RSC-4731. This two-component epoxy/amine system is formulated for extended set time and lower exotherm temperature. The system offers superior air release and improved color retention even in direct sunlight.
“The Deep Pour Lower Yellowing Epoxy System offers easier use enabling up to 4-inch pours in a single application,” said Dan Weinmann, Business Development Manager - Epoxy, Americas. “This system does not use additives to improve yellowing resistance. The resin and curing agent combination have improved light stability built into the cured epoxy thermoset backbone.”
Westlake Epoxy is also promoting an ultra-low yellowing cycloaliphatic amine curing agent for decorative floor coatings. Curing Agent RSC-4729 provides superior yellowing resistance and improved gloss retention when used with standard Bis-A or Bis-F epoxy resins. For better performance, use RSC-4729 with an aliphatic epoxy resin (e.g., EPONEX™ Resin 1510). In a clear enamel, after 600 hours of QUV-A exposure, the aliphatic epoxy system gave Delta E of 6 units and gloss retention greater than 85% (measured at 60-degree gloss).
