- UnitedHealthcare is donating more than $11.1 million in grants through its Empowering Health program across 12 states.
- Grant recipients in Texas include Factor Health, Dell Medical School, Meals on Wheels Texas, Spring Branch Community Health Center, Kids’ Meals Inc., Brazos Valley Food Bank, SpringSpirit, and Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals.
- The grants will be used to recruit and train health callers, provide technical support, decrease barriers to accessing mental health services, expand healthy meal delivery programs, implement a Food Farmacy pilot program, add fitness and mental wellness education, and reestablish Meals on Wheels programs.
