Discusses the Potential of Lightbridge Fuel to Enhance the Safety and Efficiency of Existing and Future Nuclear Reactors
RESTON, Va., Nov. 16, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lightbridge Corporation (Nasdaq: LTBR), an advanced nuclear fuel technology company, today announced its President & Chief Executive Officer Seth Grae had the opportunity of discussing, in an interview with Scripps News TV, why Lightbridge Fuel™ has the potential to enhance the safety and efficiency of existing and future nuclear reactors.
In response to the question, “If we're going to achieve net zero emissions as the government wants, do we need nuclear energy?” Seth Grae commented:
“Yes, we can't achieve climate goals unless there's significant growth in nuclear power, and we can't achieve weaning our allies, especially in Europe, off Putin's fossil fuels unless we have a significant expansion in nuclear power. Lightbridge Fuel is being designed to add additional power to the existing nuclear plants, and more of these large reactors are being built. So, for a company like Lightbridge with advanced fuel that improves the economics of the reactors, the safety of the reactors, and the non-proliferation, there's an enormous market of 400 reactors in the world that could produce more power right now by being upgraded when this technology becomes commercially available.”
