FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) announced the successful implementation of CGI's Momentum® as part of the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ's) Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) program. Operating as a shared service, this modernization streamlines systems to create a single source of financial and acquisition information for DOJ to improve its financial management performance, strengthen its business processes, and support delivery of its mission, objectives, and strategic goals.

CGI's Momentum® plays a pivotal role as the software solution underpinning UFMS, which combined and replaced the Department's six core financial management and multiple procurement systems. Through this implementation, DOJ gains a single enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to manage information across all DOJ components. Specifically, UFMS streamlines and standardizes business processes and procedures across all DOJ components, providing secure, accurate, timely, and actionable financial data to management personnel. It also provides DOJ with consolidated management information, as well as the capability to meet all mandatory requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Justice Acquisition Regulation.

"For nearly two decades, CGI has used its deep knowledge of DOJ's business processes, accounting, and technology to serve as the Department's trusted advisor," stated Clay Goldwein, Senior Vice-President at CGI Federal. "Successful completion of the implementation enables DOJ to consider new approaches to improve enterprise systems as demonstrated by the recent introduction of a unified asset management solution supported by CGI's Sunflower, which will drive effective and efficient stewardship of assets for the Department."
