Colgate Announces 1st Quarter 2022 Results
Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL) reported a 1.5% increase in net sales and a 4.0% rise in organic sales for Q1 2022. However, EPS declined by 18% to $0.66 on a GAAP basis, and by 8% to $0.74 on a Base Business basis. The gross profit margin fell 220 basis points to 58.5%. Operational cash flow was $386 million. Colgate maintained significant market shares in toothpaste (39.2%) and manual toothbrushes (30.7%). The company updated its 2022 guidance, expecting net sales growth at 1% to 4% and organic sales growth at 4% to 6%. Challenges include rising raw material costs and global uncertainties.
