The Chefs’ Warehouse Reports Third Quarter 2020 Financial Results
The Chefs' Warehouse reported a third quarter net loss of $11.4 million, or $(0.31) per diluted share, a decline from net income of $4.4 million in Q3 2019. Net sales fell by 36.0% to $254 million year-on-year, with a 44.9% decline in organic revenue. However, on a sequential basis, net sales improved by 26.7% or $53.5 million from Q2 2020. Adjusted EBITDA was $(4.9) million, down from $21.6 million a year earlier. The company held $193 million in cash, while full-year guidance was not provided due to ongoing market uncertainties.

RIDGEFIELD, Conn., Oct. 28, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Chefs’ Warehouse, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHEF) (the “Company” or “Chefs’”), a premier distributor of specialty food products in the United States and Canada, today reported financial results for its third quarter ended September 25, 2020.
Financial highlights for the third quarter of 2020:

36.0% to$254.0 million for the third quarter of 2020 from$396.9 million for the third quarter of 2019. - GAAP net loss was
$11.4 million , or$(0.31) per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2020 compared to net income of$4.4 million , or$0.15 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2019. - Adjusted EPS1 was
$(0.38) for the third quarter of 2020 compared to$0.23 for the third quarter of 2019. - Adjusted EBITDA1 was
$(4.9) million for the third quarter of 2020 compared to$21.6 million for the third quarter of 2019. - On a sequential quarter basis, net sales grew

Reclassifications
In response to an SEC comment letter, the Company has reclassified its food processing costs, previously included in operating expenses, to cost of sales and has split its historical presentation of operating expenses between selling, general and administrative expenses and other operating expenses. These reclassifications have no impact on the Company’s net income, cash flows or EBITDA.
