The study, based on responses from 400 high-net-worth individuals, reveals that Millennials prioritize happiness and success in their wealth definitions, with 89% stating the pandemic shifted their views. In contrast, Baby Boomers value financial security and independence. Notably, 52% of all respondents reported improved philanthropic commitments and savings levels.

Importantly, the survey examines how perceptions of wealth differ by generation, and how those perceptions shifted during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The “Why of Wealth” survey found that there are significant differences in the ways individuals across age groups understand and define wealth:
