American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest publicly-traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, announced today the company raised $180,000 to support Water For People, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to improved water and sanitation systems and services in developing countries.

A key contributor to this year's Water For People campaign was the American Water Charitable Foundation, which donated $50,000 towards the company's annual campaign. Additional contributions came from employees across the country through donations and fundraising events that help advance the non-profit organization’s mission of promoting the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, sustained by strong communities, businesses and governments.
