(NYSE: ATH) announced today that its special general meeting of shareholders will be held on December 21, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time to approve the previously announced proposed merger (the "Merger") involving Athene Holding Ltd. (the "Company" and together with its subsidiaries "Athene") and Apollo Global Management, Inc. ("Apollo"). The record date for the meeting is November 4, 2021. The special general meeting will be held virtually as a result of continuing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
The closing of the Merger is subject to approval by the Company's shareholders, approval by Apollo's stockholders, the receipt of regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. The Merger is expected to close in January 2022.
