ANNAPOLIS, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Netography, the security company for the Atomized Network, today announced that Tom McDonough has joined the company’s Board of Directors as an independent board member. The appointment follows Netography’s recent $45 million in Series A funding and key additions to the company's leadership team.
McDonough is an experienced board member and operating executive with more than 35 years of management experience in the enterprise software and cybersecurity industry. He has contributed to the growth and acquisition of some of the most highly valued cybersecurity companies. McDonough joined Sourcefire in 2002 and served as President and COO until its $2.7B acquisition by Cisco. During his tenure, revenues increased from approximately $1M to nearly $300M. Following Sourcefire’s acquisition, he spent several years at Cisco where he played a significant role in the acquisition and integration of six cybersecurity companies. Before joining Sourcefire, McDonough was the CEO of Mountain Wave, Inc., acquired by Symantec in 2002; SVP of Worldwide Sales for Riverbed Technologies, acquired by Aether Systems (NASDAQ:AETH) in 2000; and VP of North American Sales for AXENT Technologies (NASDAQ:AXNT) acquired by Symantec in 2000.
“Tom’s experience and leadership has contributed to the creation of more than $5B in shareholder wealth, through two IPO's and four acquisitions at four different companies, and he has helped a number of cybersecurity companies define their strategy and operational effectiveness,” said Martin Roesch, Chief Executive Officer, Netography. “Tom has a consistent track record of leading security companies that generate predictable revenue and profitable growth. We’re excited to welcome him to Netography’s board of directors, and I know we will benefit from his knowledge and expertise on multiple levels.”
In late 2021, Netography announced the appointment of industry luminary Martin Roesch as CEO, while co-founder Barrett Lyon, network security pioneer, moved into the role of Chief Architect. More recently, Netography appointed Ben Holladay as Chief Revenue Officer, Dan Ramaswami as Vice President of Field Engineering, Jennifer Leggio as Chief Marketing Officer, and Joel Esler as Vice President of Threat Research, assembling a team that has developed some of the most successful cybersecurity companies of the last two decades.
“I’m very excited to join Netography’s board and work with this seasoned team of experts and investors,” said McDonough. “The emergence of the atomized network has crystallized the need for a new security architecture to detect and respond to threats. Companies are adopting Netography and seeing instant value, in minutes or hours, vs. days or months, enabling highly scalable visibility and control in environments where they’re largely blind today. By solving customers' most urgent security challenges, Netography has positioned themselves well for strong customer adoption and growth.”
