Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced Evelyn Varner as head of Advice Enablement for Wealth & Investment Management (WIM). The new role is part of WIM’s Advice and Planning center of excellence, which delivers advice and planning capabilities that will help advisors and clients work together to address a broad range of client needs, concerns, and goals. Varner will report to Michael Liersch, WIM head of Advice and Planning.

“Evelyn’s unique background is a perfect fit to lead our effort in the Advice Center to focus on building digitally enabled, holistic, goals-based advice, working collaboratively with our partners in technology and operations,” said Liersch. “Her terrific experience will help us deliver comprehensive and competitive solutions across the wealth continuum. Varner will work across all of WIM’s client-facing businesses, including Wells Fargo Advisors and Wells Fargo Private Bank, and will play a critical role in developing the vision for how advisors best use data and tools to help deliver meaningful, relevant, real-time advice to their clients. This includes designing and launching new, innovative advice experiences for collaborative use by advisors and clients across WIM.
With more than 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, Varner most recently served as digital planning executive for Bank of America/Merrill where she was responsible for developing and implementing omni-channel digital planning platforms and customer experience initiatives. Prior to that role, she led and managed the Merrill personal and institutional retirement platforms, and managed account products.
Varner received a bachelor’s degree in finance from State University of New York at New Paltz, and a master’s degree in applied statistics and operations research from Union College.
