CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading global supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, announced sampling of the GN2559S, Semtech’s new ultra-low power Tri-Edge™ clock and data recovery (CDR) receiver solution to enable next-generation data center short reach (SR) and long reach (LR) optical links. The GN2559S is a next generation Tri-Edge PAM4 receiver with quad PAM4 CDRs and integrated linear transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs). In addition to its small size, it offers low latency due to the Tri-Edge signal integrity platform, and a 400mW power reduction from the previous generation receiver.

“Building upon the successful deployment of Tri-Edge PAM4 SR CDR chipset in major Cloud data centers, Semtech is now offering the next generation Tri-Edge receiver to the market with best-in-class power and latency performance,” said Weiliang Deng, senior product line manager in Semtech’s Signal Integrity Products Group. “GN2559S is based on Semtech’s Tri-Edge CDR technology that is a robust and proven solution for PAM4 optical transceivers, and is fully compliant to the IEEE (802.3bs/802.3cd) and Open Eye MSA specifications.”

The Tri-Edge GN2559S is now available for sampling and Semtech will also offer complete reference design kits (RDK) for SR and LR applications.
