Spirit Airlines Announces Closing of Private Offering by Loyalty and Brand Subsidiaries
Spirit Airlines (NYSE: SAVE) has successfully closed a private offering of $850 million in senior secured notes with an 8.00% interest rate due in 2025. The offering's proceeds boost the airline's financial position amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as it also completes an AT-Market offering of 9 million shares raising approximately $156 million. Spirit also announced it no longer intends to participate in the U.S. Treasury’s secured loan program under the CARES Act, given the successful completion of the company’s secured note offering.
