Renesas Introduces Second-Generation of ClockMatrix Family of Network Synchronizers and Jitter Attenuators for Optical and Wireline Networks
Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE: 6723) has launched the ClockMatrix 2, an advanced timing device designed for 400/800Gbps optical transport and wireline networks. This second-generation product improves upon previous models by offering phase jitter as low as 88fs-rms. Key features include a highly integrated six-channel timing source that simplifies designs and supports multiple standards, including IEEE1588 and Synchronous Ethernet. The ClockMatrix 2 is now available, promising enhanced performance for 5G and other high-speed applications.

The highly integrated devices provide all the functionality needed to implement an IEEE1588 clock solution with jitter attenuation capabilities resulting in ultra-low jitter clock outputs for Synchronous Ethernet PHYs with data rates up to 112Gbps PAM-4, reducing design complexity and bill of materials (BOM) requirements, while also allowing customers to apply the timing devices to a wide variety of network applications.
