LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- nVent Electric plc (NYSE:NVT) (“nVent”), a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions, today announced that it was recognized in the inaugural ranking of America’s Greenest Companies 2024 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group.

The rankings score companies in several parameters across four main categories: greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, and sustainability data disclosures and commitments. nVent first publicly set its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals in 2020 and has taken significant strides in its sustainability program every year. nVent focuses its ESG efforts in three pillars: People, Products and Planet. Within the Planet pillar, nVent’s strategic actions aimed at driving responsible use of natural resources helped it reduce normalized water consumption by 12% and normalized waste generation by 14% in 2022 compared to 2021.

nVent also has invested in on-site renewables projects to drive sustainability at its sites around the globe and engages employees to identify and execute environmental improvement projects. These efforts helped drive a total reduction in CO2e emissions of 7% in 2022 compared to 2021.

“At nVent, we are building a more sustainable and electrified world. We are committed to ESG and continuous improvement,” said nVent Chair and CEO Beth Wozniak. “I’m proud of our employees and how we work together to find innovative ways to reduce our impact on the environment and think responsibly about our use of natural resources.”

“Newsweek, market-data research firm Plant-A Insights and GIST Impact are proud to introduce ‘America’s Greenest Companies 2024,’ highlighting companies that are committed to being good stewards of the environment. We hope this new project helps consumers identify the companies that—like many of us—are conscious of their impact on the environment and are working to protect the Earth and its resources,” said Nancy Cooper – Global Editor in Chief – Newsweek.
