NEW YORK, April 18, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies Inc. (NasdaqCM: MRM), a holistic healthcare company based in Japan (the “Company”), today announced its major Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs, updated for the month of March 2022. Data is provided for all salons for which comparative financial and customer data is available and excludes certain salons where such information is not available.
The following monthly KPIs provide insight into the business fundamentals and progress of the Company, updated for the month of March 2022.
- The number of salons was 310 in March 2022, up from 303 in the year-ago period, primarily as a result of the acquisition of another salon brand in May 2021.
- Total customers served decreased to 61,417 in March 2022 from 62,441 in the year-ago period. Total customers served recovered from the previous month due to seasonal factors, but is still affected by the Omicron variant.
- Sales per customer increased to JPY6,595 in March 2022, up from JPY6,352 in March 2021. The increase is attributed to the upselling of value-added optional services.
- Our repeat ratio, a measure of repeat customers, slightly increased to
82.4% in March 2022 from81.9% in the year-ago period. - Our operation ratio decreased to
46.5% in March 2022 from47.0% in the year-ago period. As in the previous month, the decrease is primarily attributed to the decrease in the total customers served due to the impact of the Omicron variant. - The total number of salons with data was 217 in March 2022, no change from 217 in March 2021. The number of salons with data decreases when we close salons with data available and increases as we open salons with such data.
