MITQ secures $9M deal for cinema laser projector installations, providing steady revenue stream through FY28.

The deal's structure is particularly valuable from a business perspective - it provides predictable revenue visibility through FY28, smoothing out the often lumpy income patterns typical in equipment sales businesses. By securing this long-term contract, MITQ gains operational planning stability while strengthening its relationship with a key national account.
The technology aspects are equally noteworthy. The transition from lamp-based projection to laser systems represents a critical industry inflection point, with laser technology offering cinemas dual benefits: enhanced viewer experience through improved brightness and color accuracy, plus significant operational cost savings through lower power consumption and eliminated lamp replacement cycles. MITQ has strategically bundled their proprietary automation systems and integration services with the Barco projectors, increasing their value capture within the deal.
The timing of initial installations before the 2025 holiday film season is optimal, as cinemas typically aim to complete technical upgrades before peak attendance periods. This positions MITQ as a key enabler in the broader industry-wide technology modernization wave that includes both visual and audio system upgrades.
