Insights

This follow-on investment demonstrates MAIN's strategic commitment to supporting portfolio company growth through acquisition financing. The $30.8 million investment, structured as first lien senior secured debt, represents a relatively low-risk approach to capital deployment while potentially enhancing returns through interest income. The fact that this marks the sixth follow-on investment in Gamber-Johnson since 2016 suggests strong performance and execution by the portfolio company.

The acquisition target's focus on law enforcement and aftermarket truck accessories aligns well with Gamber-Johnson's existing product portfolio and market presence. This vertical integration should create operational synergies and strengthen Gamber-Johnson's market position in the mobile workforce solutions sector. The steady demand from law enforcement, military and fleet operations provides a stable revenue base, while the expansion into aftermarket accessories opens additional growth channels.
