Rob Taylor and Addie Rasche Join the Austin-Based Venture Capital Firm
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Silverton Partners, an Austin-based early stage Venture Capital firm, announces the addition of two team members, Rob Taylor as Operating Partner, and Addie Rasche as Senior Associate. Rob and Addie join the investment team with unique experience to help Silverton continue to foster lasting partnerships with its portfolio companies while building relationships with new entrepreneurs.
Rob Taylor joins Silverton as a former Co-Founder & CEO of Silverton Partners’ portfolio company, Convey, which was acquired by project44 for $255M in December of 2021. Convey was a pioneer in logistics and supply chain visibility software for some of the largest global retailers such as The Home Depot, Costco, Walmart, and QVC. Prior to Convey, Rob was President of BlackLocus, another Silverton portfolio company that was acquired by The Home Depot for $55M within eighteen months. Rob then spent two years building Home Depot's Innovation Lab in Austin, TX.
Silverton and Rob have been partnered for over a decade across two portfolio companies and now get to work alongside each other as investors to support promising entrepreneurs. “This is an exciting fit for me – to do what I love in helping others to grow and scale their businesses and to do so with a team of investors that I know and trust,” said Rob Taylor.
Prior to BlackLocus, Rob served as EVP & GM of TrueCar, an online technology business reinventing how cars are purchased & sold on the internet. TrueCar completed its IPO in 2014 after raising several hundred million dollars over the preceding four years. Rob lives in Austin, TX with his two sons and when not spending time with family and business, has a passion for road cycling the highest mountain ranges across the globe.
Addie joins Silverton Partners as a Senior Associate after working for the firm as a part-time Associate while pursuing her MBA at McCombs School of Business. Prior to investing, Addie worked in the music and live entertainment industry for nearly a decade. In college, she joined the founding team of an event production startup that was later acquired by AEG Presents, the world’s second largest sports and live entertainment company. In 2018, Addie moved to Austin to oversee strategic growth and new projects at C3 Presents, a subsidiary of Live Nation (NYSE:LYV). Originally from Atlanta, GA, Addie holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business and B.A. degrees in both Political Science and Communications from Tulane University. Addie lives in Austin, TX with her husband and when not working she enjoys seeing live music and exploring the best of the Texas hill country.
“Rob and Addie are both exceptional individuals who have successful entrepreneurial backgrounds and bring substantial operating experience to the Silverton portfolio,” said Morgan Flager, Managing Partner of Silverton Partners. “Their knowledge comes from the journey of being builders themselves and I’m thrilled to learn from and work with them in support of our founders.”
Silverton continues to expand its investment team to meet the growing need for early stage capital in Central Texas and beyond. Last year Silverton closed its seventh and largest fund, oversubscribed at more than $250 million in limited partner commitments.
