Insight School of Michigan Class of 2021 Ready for the Next Big Part of Their Lives
This year marked a significant milestone for Insight School of Michigan (ISMI), which serves grades 9-12 as an online public school since 2013. On June 4, 2021, ISMI will hold a virtual graduation ceremony for its 202 students, celebrating their perseverance despite challenges faced during the academic year. Valedictorian Alexander Kennedy plans to pursue fashion design, while Salutatorian Nicole Vitale has yet to finalize her future plans. The class has been accepted to various colleges and trade schools, highlighting their readiness for the next phase of life.

This year was a year like no other in American education. But thanks to schools like Insight School of Michigan, (ISMI), an online public school serving 9-12 grade students throughout the state since 2013, students will soon move forward to begin the rest of their lives.
ISMI will celebrate its graduates virtually with a commencement ceremony on Friday, June 4 beginning at 5 pm.
“Our students struggled, our students fought to get ahead, and our students succeeded like no others,” said ISMI Head of School Teresa Boardman. “This was certainly a challenging year, but our students and families got the education they needed to move on and be successful.”
This year, ISMI will graduate 202 students. Alexander Kennedy is ISMI’s 2021 valedictorian. Alexander is planning to pursue fashion design. The Salutatorian is Nicole Vitale, and she has not yet finalized her post-secondary plans.
Collectively, the graduating class reports it has been accepted to colleges and universities across Michigan and beyond, including Eastern Michigan University, Central Michigan University, various community colleges and trade schools.
Insight School of Michigan’s graduates have crossed the finish line of graduation and are prepared for their next adventure in life.
Prior to the pandemic, students enrolled in virtual school for a number of reasons—some were looking to escape bullying, some may have fallen academically off track, and others were looking for an alternative to the traditional classroom setting.
ISMI students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a host of electives and attend live virtual classes taught by state-certified teachers.
