Lemonade Completes Acquisition of Metromile
Lemonade (LMND) has finalized its acquisition of Metromile, an AI-driven car insurance provider. In this deal, Lemonade offered shares worth $145 million to Metromile shareholders while gaining over $155 million in cash, $110 million in car premiums, and an insurance entity licensed in 49 states. This strategic acquisition aims to enhance Lemonade's auto insurance offerings by leveraging Metromile's extensive driving data, which is derived from monitoring billions of miles driven.
