Birmingham Revitalization Program Provides Safety, Security and Peace of Mind Public-private partnership brings FORTIFIED protection to Northside homes
An innovative public-private partnership is revitalizing Birmingham's historic Northside neighborhoods through the Protecting Good program, which offers up to $25,000 for home repairs and installation of storm-resistant roofs. Over 65 homes have been retrofitted to the FORTIFIED standard, with plans for 100 more by 2023. The program aims to enhance community resilience against severe weather while fostering strong relationships with local organizations.
