UKG and Dell Technologies Launch Solar Community Hub in Mexico in Collaboration With Tecnológico de Monterrey and Computer Aid International
Dell Technologies (DELL) and UKG have launched a Solar Community Hub in Los Pinos Park, Mexico, serving the Campana and Altamira neighborhoods. The initiative, developed with Tecnológico de Monterrey and Computer Aid International, will benefit approximately 20,000 local residents by providing access to technology, education, healthcare, and vital infrastructure.
This hub is part of Dell Technologies' broader philanthropic initiative, which has established 48 Solar Community Hubs worldwide. The facilities are created from repurposed shipping containers powered by solar panels, offering education programs including computer skills, robotics, coding, and career guidance. This marks the fourth Solar Community Hub in Mexico, joining existing locations in the State of Mexico and Xalapa Veracruz.
The project aims to support Mexico's economic growth, which averaged 2% annually between 1980 and 2022, with a 3.2% growth in 2023. The hub will provide workforce training and development skills to local residents, along with essential services like clean water, bathrooms, and community space.
