CEMEX Supports Initiative to Clean Mexican Beaches
CEMEX, through its subsidiary Pro Ambiente, participated in the "United for the Mexican Beaches" initiative, conducting a beach cleanup at La Ventanilla Beach in Oaxaca. In June, volunteers collected over 50,000 plastic bottles along a five-kilometer stretch of coastline, promoting both ecological health and recycling efforts. The collected waste will be treated for energy recycling in a CEMEX cement kiln, contributing to carbon emission reductions. Pro Ambiente aims to enhance waste management and support a circular economy, aligning with CEMEX's commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
