Adtalem Global Education (NYSE: ATGE), a leading workforce solutions provider, today announced the completion of its acquisition of Walden University, a leading online healthcare and behavioral sciences education provider, from Laureate Education, Inc. With a projected nursing shortage of more than 500,000 registered nurses by 20301 and a shortage of up to 139,000 physicians by 20332, this transaction has enhanced Adtalem’s ability to address the rapidly growing and unmet demand for healthcare professionals in the U.S. through greater scale and a wider array of healthcare educational offerings.
