American Software Reports Second Quarter of Fiscal Year 2021 Results
American Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMSWA) reported preliminary financial results for Q2 FY2021, showcasing a 27% rise in subscription fees to $7.0 million. However, software license revenues dropped 57% to $0.5 million as the company pivots to a SaaS model. Total revenues decreased 1% to $27.9 million. Operating earnings fell 25% to $0.6 million, and GAAP net earnings plummeted 61% to $0.7 million, or $0.02 per share. Despite these challenges, cash and investments remained robust at $94.6 million with no debt, while the Cloud Services ACV grew 32% to $29.6 million.

$7.0 million for the quarter ended October 31, 2020, a27% increase compared to$5.5 million for the same period last year, while Software license revenues were$0.5 million , a57% decrease compared to$1.0 million for the same period last year, reflecting our continued transition to the Software as a Service (SaaS) engagement model. -
Cloud Services Annual Contract Value (ACV) increased approximately
32% to$29.6 million as of the quarter ended October 31, 2020 compared to$22.4 million as of the same period of the prior year. -
Total revenues for the quarter ended October 31, 2020 decreased
1% to$27.9 million , compared to$28.2 million for the same period of the prior year. -
Recurring revenue streams for Maintenance and Cloud Services were
62% of total revenues in the quarter ended October 31, 2020 compared to58% in the same period of the prior year. -
