(NASDAQ:AIMD, AIMDW) ("Ainos", or the "Company"), a diversified medtech company focused on the development of novel point-of-care testing, low-dose interferon therapeutics, and synthetic RNA-driven preventative medicine, today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") with Taiwanese animal drug manufacturer Tah-An Chemical & Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("Tah-An").
Ainos and Tah-An intend to jointly explore the feasibility of manufacturing an animal investigational new drug based on the Company's VELDONA® formulation. Ainos plans to begin animal clinical trials for potential veterinary applications of VELDONA® in the first quarter of 2023. Tah-An is proposed as the contract manufacturer of the new drug candidates and Ainos plans to contribute technical assistance. The companies are currently engaged in talks to establish a formal contract based on the MoU terms.
Tah-An is a leading producer of animal drugs and has manufactured pharmaceuticals for both livestock and companion animals since 1966. The proposed strategic partnership would allow Ainos to leverage Tah-An's knowledge and manufacturing expertise as the Company develops its product pipeline.
