Webster Bank Continues Support for East Coast Greenway Alliance
Webster Bank has donated $5,000 to the East Coast Greenway Alliance for the second consecutive year, aimed at maintaining trails in Connecticut and Rhode Island. This investment supports trail maintenance and amenities, addressing increased traffic and cleanup costs due to Tropical Storm Isaias. The donation was part of Webster's partnership with the Hartford Marathon Foundation, where it pledged $10 for each participant in the HMF Evergreen Adventure.
In total, Webster has committed $143 million for renewable energy initiatives.

WATERBURY, Conn., Sept. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its continued commitment to the environment, Webster Bank today announced it has made a contribution to the East Coast Greenway Alliance for the second year in a row.
Webster's donation to the East Coast Greenway will be used to continue maintenance, resurfacing, access and amenities of trails in Connecticut and Rhode Island. Webster's 2019 donation funded the re-signing of 22 miles of the East Coast Greenway route in Connecticut, as well as a tunnel lighting feasibility study and project planning for improvements to several trails in Connecticut.
Nearly 250 miles of East Coast Greenway trails run through Connecticut and Rhode Island including a series of rail trails that showcase the beauty of Southern New England cities and towns from the coast to inland.
