Vimeo Launches Inaugural Short Film Grant in Partnership with Nikon and RED
Vimeo (VMEO) has announced its first-ever 'Vimeo Short Film Grant presented by Nikon | RED' with a total funding pool of $150,000. The program will award five filmmakers with $30,000 each to produce short films.
Recipients will receive one-on-one mentorship from a prestigious jury including David Lowery, Charlotte Wells, Sean Wang, Savanah Leaf, and Adam Bricker, ASC. Winners will also gain access to advanced filming equipment from Nikon and RED's Z CINEMA line, including V-RAPTOR [X] and KOMODO-X cameras.
The program includes a Vimeo Standard subscription and distribution support, featuring dedicated promotion through in-person screenings in NYC and LA. Submissions open March 10, 2025, with winners to be notified by July 7. Projects will commence in July 2025.

The grant will award five filmmakers with

Winning projects will be selected by a prestigious jury of filmmakers, industry professionals, and Vimeo executives based on originality, artistic merit, and feasibility of project execution. The jury will be composed of celebrated Vimeo Staff Picks alumni, including filmmakers David Lowery, Charlotte Wells, Sean Wang, Savanah Leaf and cinematographer Adam Bricker, ASC.
