Trinseo Provides Update on Status of Release to Waterway at Bristol Plant
Trinseo PLC reported an accidental release of approximately 8,100 gallons of latex emulsion due to equipment failure at its Bristol, Pennsylvania facility. The material overflowed containment and entered local waterways but has not been detected in water samples. The company is collaborating with authorities, including the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. EPA, to assess the situation. Operations at the facility are currently paused, and Trinseo plans to resume partial production shortly. The Bristol facility manufactures acrylic resins and employs around 110 people.

Material Not Detected in Initial Sampling Results
The release was the result of an equipment failure. Some of the material overflowed the on-site containment system and entered a storm drain, where it flowed to
Trinseo personnel alerted federal, state, and local authorities and immediately began to participate in the emergency response. Because the material is highly water soluble, and the release coincided with a period of rainfall, the material dissipated quickly in the water. To assess potential impacts, water samples were collected at designated locations. Results received to date have not detected the released material.
