Thunderbird Entertainment’s Chief Financial Officer Wins 2021 Report on Business Best Executive Award
Thunderbird Entertainment Group Inc. (TSXV: TBRD, OTCQX: THBRF) (“Thunderbird” or “Company”), is delighted to announce that its Chief Financial Officer Barb Harwood has been awarded a 2021 Report on Business Best Executive Award. Hosted by The Globe and Mail, the Report on Business Best Executive Awards is an annual program to celebrate excellence among non-CEO leaders at the SVP, EVP and C-suite (or equivalent) levels.
The 50 winners chosen for 2021 represent the best of Canadian leadership in five functional areas: Finance; Human Resources; Operations; Sales and Marketing; and Technology. Harwood is one of 10 winners in the Finance Category and is being recognized for her outstanding financial leadership, commitment to transparency and adherence to sound ethics and quality reporting practices. Beyond her numerous financial responsibilities since joining Thunderbird as CFO in 2005, Harwood has also been integral to numerous Company initiatives that advance diversity, inclusion, and minority representation at all levels.
“Barb is an impactful leader, a compassionate mentor and an extremely talented corporate executive – both within our Company, and also across the entire entertainment industry,” said Jennifer Twiner McCarron, President and Chief Executive Officer, Thunderbird Entertainment. “Barb’s financial stewardship plays a critical role in everything we do at Thunderbird. On behalf of our entire company, I want to congratulate Barb for being one of the top 10 financial leaders to be acknowledged by Report on Business in their ranking of 2021’s Best Executives.”
The Globe and Mail launched the Report on Business Best Executive Awards in 2020. Winning executives for 2021 were chosen after a call for nominations for leaders at Canadian public and private businesses, not-for-profits, institutions and/or academic institutions. Nominations were assessed by the Report on Business editorial team based on career background, leadership style, achievements, and impact. Winners of the Best Executive Awards are profiled editorially in the April issue of Report on Business magazine, out online on April 23 and in print April 24.
