SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Dec. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select: SWBI), a U.S.-based leader in firearm manufacturing and design, today announced financial results for the second quarter fiscal year 2023, ended October 31, 2022.
- Net sales were
$121.0 million , a decrease of$109.4 million , or47.5% , from the comparable quarter last year, but$7.3 million , or6.4% , higher than the comparable quarter in fiscal 2020, which was the last pre-pandemic comparable second quarter. - Gross margin was
32.4% compared with44.3% in the comparable quarter last year and28.4% in the comparable quarter in fiscal 2020. Excluding relocation costs, gross margin would have been33.9% . - GAAP net income was
$9.6 million , or$0.21 per diluted share, compared with$50.9 million , or$1.05 per diluted share, for the comparable quarter last year, and$343,000 , or$0.01 per diluted share, for the comparable quarter in fiscal 2020. - Non-GAAP net income was
$12.0 million , or$0.26 per diluted share, compared with$55.3 million , or$1.13 per diluted share, for the comparable quarter last year, and with$520,000 , or$0.01 per diluted share, for the comparable quarter in fiscal 2020.
