Safe Pro Seeks International Expansion of US Awarded Patent for its AI-Powered Drone Imagery Technology Through 47 National Phase Jurisdictions
Company Completes International Filings for Protection Under Patent Cooperation Treaty for Expanded Global Protection to Rapidly Identify and Map Small Lethal Threats Using AI and Drone Imagery
The Company’s IP portfolio currently includes the awarded US Patent No. 12,146,729 incorporating 21 claims made in the Company’s original patent application entitled, “Systems and Methods for Detecting and Identifying Explosives.” These claims cover autonomous detection, identification, and labeling of explosives in orthomosaic images using AI processing of drone imagery. Valid until 2043, the patent captures the groundbreaking nature of SpotlightAI™ and its ability to transform fields ranging from humanitarian demining, agriculture, to national defense and reconstruction. The Company has now expanded its international filings by entering in the national phase of its previously filed (and related) international application filed with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (“PCT”), in
“The evolution of the battlefield continues to shift towards a reliance on AI and drone technology and witnessing an increasing prevalence of small explosive threats such as landmines and anti-personnel mines, three key trends which directly align with our intellectual property strategy. Whether it is for soldier safety and force protection, or for humanitarian demining, innovative IP such as our Safe Pro Object Threat Detection Technology (SPOTD), will be a critical element in the success of any future operation, representing a tremendous opportunity for us in the months and years ahead,” said Dan Erdberg, Chairman and CEO of Safe Pro Group Inc.
The Company’s patented SPOTD technology is designed to detect over 150 different kinds of small, hard-to-spot threats including landmines, anti-personnel mines, cluster munitions and unexploded ordnance. As multiple NATO nations are now considering withdrawing from the 1997 Landmine Convention which banned the use of anti-personnel landmines, it is expected that the usage of these explosive threats will increase significantly. To address any potential future increase in the use of landmines and cluster munitions, SPOTD’s standards-based software architecture makes it easy to seamlessly integrate it with military communication systems, ground vehicles, and C6ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber-Defense and Combative Systems) frameworks. Soldiers can access real-time threat alerts on mobile devices, vehicle displays, and tactical networks, providing unmatched precision in navigating hazardous environments.
