ATHENS, Greece, Nov. 09, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Star Bulk Carriers Corp. (the “Company” or “Star Bulk”) (Nasdaq: SBLK), a global shipping company focusing on the transportation of dry bulk cargoes, today announced the publication of its 2020 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report (“Report”), developed in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative Standards (Core Option) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) for Marine Transportation. The GRI and SASB disclosures of the report have been assured by EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services.

2020 ESG Report

This Report provides a transparent account of the Company’s sustainability performance, targets and strategy, and applies rigorous global standards for comparability and comprehensiveness. In formulating the Company’s targets and measuring its efforts, Star Bulk draws inspiration and guidance from the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Report presents Star Bulk’s priorities and goals, and provides extensive information about the Company’s activities, including corporate governance, operational excellence, and the ways in which it measures and manages its impact on the environment, its people and society.
